Today's Post.  Welcome NC State

Congratulations to 2 members receiving/accepting a job offer and internship, respectively.  While Dayaway did not factor into these successes, I think it proves that clean energy jobs are out there and that Dayaway has attracted good talent.  A huge goal for Dayaway is to be able to get a real assist.

Leader board for Professor Contest appears at end of Previously On Dayaway.  No results yet, but OSU and Purdue are out of gate first.

In the course of talking with many of you, I think I am learning potential best practices for job searching--ideas/actions that seem to work.  Perhaps all of you know these things, but if not, here's one.

See whether your school has an alumni data base.  Try contacting an alumnus who works or knows someone at a company you are applying to.  I am hearing that often the alumnus will put in a good word.

Bye for now.  mb

Got or need a clean energy job/internship?  Join or follow Dayaway.

michaelbrownell@dayawaycareers.com.  Thanks.  Mike b.

Dayaway Today is the mini-blog for Dayaway Careers, a website focused on finding clean energy jobs/internships for college graduates.  Here, we: (1) discuss clean energy companies, curriculum, associations, job boards and job profiles; (2) report key growth metrics; and (3) invite your ideas to improve Dayaway.   michaelbrownell@dayawaycareers.com

REGISTRATIONS/FOLLOWERS GROWING.  Dayaway has a very simple plan--Students First, Jobs Second.  Starting in November and continuing until now, we registered 103 talented students (undergraduate and graduate students, good schools, grades and curricula) truly interested in clean energy who are seeking internships or full-time jobs.  Dayaway promised to promote this impressive collection of students to clean energy employers.  Now, it's time to do that.

PROMOTION TIME.   Dayaway began reaching out to employers (permanent and internships) on January 15.  Targeted employers are listed in the Company Directory--which is growing 5-10%/week.  Dayaway will offer employers the completely free ability to:  list jobs, have their jobs broadcast via Dayaway's listserv, and have Dayaway search for specific candidates.

EMPLOYERS/STUDENTS:  USE, JOIN & BUILDDayaway offers you an easy, free and helpful way to find each other.  The more you use, join and build it, the more helpful it will be.  Do it!

Thanks for visiting us today.  I hoped we helped.  Check us out tomorrow.
