This Week's Post.  The primary project for this week is the Dayaway Curricula directory.

Dayaway not only finds recent college graduates who are relevant to clean energy employers, but we endeavor to make students relevant, too.  Driven by our micro-internship candidate, Dibya, Dayaway is creating a directory of graduate programs focused on clean energy, with an emphasis upon engineering, environmental science, business and economics majors.  We believe this will helpful to BA/BS graduates planning to get their MS/MBA.  Lots more about this later.

Our Student Advisory Board is almost in place (6 members presently).  These are outstanding students (graduate and undergraduate) from across the country who will help steer Dayaway's investments and stratetic initiatives for the 2010-2011 school year.  This week, we are preparing for our first board meeting (virtual) later this month.

Wel continue to work on designing RSS feeds and/or email notifications that will inform you automatically of the Dayaway jobs/internships you are interested in.  So, in addition to aggregating and organizing cool clean energy jobs for recent college graduates, we will soon deliver directly to you only the ones you are interested in (e.g., just positions in Colorado or just MBA positions).  More on this later.

For the next 3 months Dayaway will be working on the following strategic initiatives:  notifying members by email of job listings ("delivery by Dayaway"), listing clean energy graduate programs ("curriculum"), promoting members/Dayaway to targeted employers ("target marketing"), leveraging technology to harvest job listings ("delivery to Dayaway"), organizing work-study practicums ("content for credit")and interviewing job seekers ("your story").

Each week we will report our progress regarding these initiatives.  The notion here is that while job opportunities will be difficult this summer, we will continue to invest in the future.  Clean energy career growth is not a matter of hope; it is a matter of time (this line adapted from the Matrix Revolutions :)

Dayaway Today is the mini-blog for Dayaway Careers, a website focused on finding clean energy jobs/internships for college graduates.  Here, we: (1) discuss clean energy companies, curriculum, associations, job boards and job profiles; (2) report key growth metrics; and (3) invite your ideas to improve Dayaway.   michaelbrownell@dayawaycareers.com

REGISTRATIONS/FOLLOWERS GROWING.  Dayaway has a very simple plan--Students First, Jobs Second.  Starting in November and continuing until now, we registered 162 talented students (undergraduate and graduate students, good schools, grades and curricula) truly interested in clean energy who are seeking internships or full-time jobs.  Dayaway promised to promote this impressive collection of students to clean energy employers.  Now, it's time to do that.

PROMOTION TIME.   Dayaway began reaching out to employers (permanent and internships) on January 15.  Targeted employers are listed in the Company Directory--which is growing 5-10%/week.  Dayaway will offer employers the completely free ability to:  list jobs, have their jobs broadcast via Dayaway's listserv, and have Dayaway search for specific candidates.

EMPLOYERS/STUDENTS:  USE, JOIN & BUILD.  Dayaway offers you an easy, free and helpful way to find each other.  The more you use, join and build it, the more helpful it will be.  Do it!
