Dayaway Today
Thursday, September 17, 2009

Welcome. Dayaway Today is the mini-blog for Dayaway Careers, a website focused on finding clean energy jobs for college graduates. Through this blog we hope to show the continual growth of Dayaway Careers, and more importantly, to give you a chance to shape it's growth. We really want your suggestions so please leave a comment. Thanks.
Today's Focus. I am still fine-tuning the the essay contest rules. Dayaway's biggest start-up problem is that we need students, high caliber ones, to attract employers and we need employers to attract students; no one wants to go first. The essay contest is intended to get around this chicken and egg problem by getting the students to go first. The contest should be easy to understand and simple enough to pursue that a student would think, "Why not? What's there to lose." The essays need to be good, however, as we want to register talented students of the type employers want. The more input we get on this the better so as to make sure we have struck the right balance. The next challenge will be getting the word out. More on that tomorrow.
