Scientific Software Engineer for Seattle, WA to develop, maintain & test production system software; design, build & test algorithms and physics or empirical based models in an iterative development environment; conduct performance testing & model calibration; collaborate with domain scientists to write code for algorithms & models; develop & apply numerical solutions to systems of partial differential equations. Requires Master’s in C.S. or an Engineering field & 2 yrs experience translating scientific models into production coding languages, including C++, Java or FORTRAN; performing data processing, cleaning & statistical analysis on spatial and temporal data sets using R, Matlab, or Python; modeling physical systems, including water, carbon or nitrogen cycles; using version control systems, including git, bitbucket or dominos, to maintain & develop models; using pytests, nosetests & clojure.tests to write unit and integration tests for analyzing code performance metrics and checking for failures on production systems; and debugging algorithms & models using debugger in python and clojure. Will also accept Bachelor’s in said fields & 5 years progressive, post-Bachelor’s stated experience.
