As a Business Development Consultant on the Sales & Marketing team at PowerAdvocate, you will play a critical role in supporting our customer engagement efforts and driving future company growth. Unlike traditional sales and marketing jobs at many other software companies, you will have the opportunity to work on projects across the customer relationship lifecycle – from lead generation to deal closing – gaining an unparalleled level of autonomy, responsibility, and client exposure. This role is ideal for a person who wants to leverage their data analysis and creative problem solving skills to have an immediate impact on a fast moving, fast growing tech company and has an interest in the energy sector.

While you will be responsible for a variety of tasks in the service of generating revenue for PowerAdvocate, some common activities include:
Assessing customer insights and analyzing complex data to develop provocative value propositions for existing customers and prospects
Applying a deep understanding of accounts to craft specific messaging, solutions and business case development
Advising and creating content and concepts to support the business development and sales efforts
Performing market analysis to provide insight on marketing and sales strategy
Collaborating across teams to identify and craft the best fit solutions for the customer
Providing assistance in the development of proposals

Job Qualifications: Who We Are Looking For
Smart, ambitious individuals who are hungry to learn and who want to work in a collaborative, team-based environment. Some other things we are looking for include:
1 – 3 years of work experience, must have experience in a management consulting company and/or a business development role. Experience in an energy or technology firm, a plus.
Possess great communication skills that are complemented by presence and judgment working in a team environment with shifting priorities
Flexibility and adaptability to an executive agenda
Passion for intellectual challenge and solving complex problems
Strong analytical and presentation (both development and delivery) skills
The natural ability to make the complex simple and impactful
An interest (experience not critical) in the dynamic tech and energy industries
Preference for “entrepreneurial” rather than “big company”
Foundational skills in productivity suites (MS Office), CRM solutions (Salesforce), Supply Chain/SRM/Category Management solutions (PowerAdvocate)
Experience serving electric and gas utilities, power generation and/or renewable energy companies a plus
