The Strategy and Policy team is seeking an Analyst to support the work of its Sustainable Cities practice on energy storage and energy resiliency. Our team works directly with local governments, energy customers and industry to analyze policy and develop technical assistance resources to support storage deployment. Cadmus has developed policy and strategy guidance for battery and thermal storage technologies and the integration of energy resilience into broader climate adaptation initiatives. The Strategy and Policy team also works closely with the Cadmus Renewable Energy team on developing standards and offering trainings on energy storage policy, permitting and safety. The Analyst would report to the Strategy and Policy team and contribute to projects for both the Strategy and Policy and Renewable Energy teams.
The Analyst will work closely with senior staff to develop trainings on energy storage for local governments, provide technical assistance to customers, analyze emerging policies and also provide support on topics related to solar+storage and resiliency in the built environment. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, motivated, available to work independently, and have a strong working knowledge of the solar and storage industries, particularly in the Northeast.
Responsibilities
As an Analyst on the Strategy and Policy team, you would be responsible for:
Working independently or with minimal supervision to support in research efforts, ensuring consistency and quality of research methods;
Conducting surveys, interviews, and quantitative analyses, focused on technical, policy, and/or financial implications of storage and solar technologies;
Writing sections of reports ensuring accuracy of content and adherence to format and other pertinent details;
Supporting technical assistance requests and providing customer services to local government officials, commercial facilities and solar and storage industry representatives;
Conduct research and analyses on energy and grid resiliency ;
Qualifications
Minimum completion of Bachelors degree
Understand basic concepts of energy storage, solar PV and other renewable energy technologies
Knowledge of distributed generation policies and programs, particularly in the Northeast
Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel
Preferred
1-3 years of work experience in the clean technology field
Familiarity with and passionate about renewable energy and energy storage, including policies on the federal, regional, and state levels
Strong quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Excel or R
Project management experience
