Work with FF teams, suppliers, and customers to develop robust vehicle Restraints systems. · Take ownership of a system, component, or task and see it to completion throughout the vehicle development cycle. · Trouble shoot vehicle, system, and component level faults to determine root causes and solutions. · Research technical concepts, industry trends, and standards to determine solutions to engineering challenges. · Establish test requirements necessary to validate systems under test. · Develop, write, and publish specifications for vehicle level parts and systems. · Interface with vehicle body design team, interior team, electronics integration team, and harness team to ensure proper packaging of the safety system, with consideration for robust and efficient manufacturing processes. · Maintain working level BOM. · Manage active safety system components to achieve mass targets. Basic Requirements: · The ideal candidate should have launched one program as active or passive safety engineer at an OEM or tier-one supplier level. · Experience of CAD systems, preferably CATIA V6. · The “can do” attitude. Ability to work out ways around obstacles and see opportunities while facing difficulties.
Preferred Requirements: · Excellent people skill to work with peers and suppliers. · Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate highly technical subjects succinctly to other team members and top management. · A Bachelor of Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical degree in engineering or other technical discipline required. · Experience in a R&D, Manufacturing, or Quality environment or role. · Experience in the automotive or consumer electronics sector.
