Construction, Engineering, and Management Internship
Explore the intersection of sustainability and engineering as you learn about the design, construction, and maintenance of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Over the course of 4 weeks, interns will gain hands-on, real world experience and hone career skills through direct experience in energy assessment and management, energy conservation measure design, and project management. Interns will supplement their learning through self-paced online modules that will reinforce necessary skills and knowledge in energy analysis.
o Participate in field days with ENGIE staff at local project sites

o Complete assigned engineering work independently

o Complete final project presentation

o Complete weekly surveys and feedback requests on the internship experience

o Engage in weekly check-in with ENGIE staff (in person or via phone)

Essential Job Functions

Qualifications
Requirements

Graduating or Incoming Senior in the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District
Has completed Algebra I
Has completed AP Physics OR Engineering courses
Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Strong time management skills
Technical Interest: Must possess interest in and some technical knowledge of facility energy infrastructure, renewable or alternative energy technologies, energy conservation practices, facility operation and maintenance and other ancillary building systems and equipment.
U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required.

Essential Physical Abilities

Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc

Education/Experience

Graduating or incoming High School Senior in Paso Robles Joint Unified School District
Has completed Algebra I

Working Environment

Ability to Travel 0-10% of the time
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
Frequently communicates with employees and customers
