Stem is looking for an effective Inventory & Asset Manager to lead in the management of our energy storage systems, covering the entire lifecycle (design, construction, commissioning, operating, maintaining, repairing, modifying, replacing and decommissioning/disposal) of physical assets such as batteries, inverters, and control devices.

The Inventory & Asset Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the process and system that tracks and manages the location and status/health of Stem’s large and growing fleet of diverse deployed equipment assets. These could be assets that are at customer sites, in warehouses, at Contract Manufacturers (CM) locations, Field Service centers, or in-house.

This person will work within Stem’s MRO (Maintenance & Repair Operations) team as owner of asset lifecycle management; working closely with Supply Chain, Construction Project Managers, 3rd Party Construction Companies, NOC (Network Operations Center), Field Services, Sustaining Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Customer Operations, Quality, and Document Control.


Develop an overall systematic approach to managing and organization of physical assets, from large systems down to component and sub-component levels
Coordinate with Field Services and the NOC to automate scheduling of preventative maintenance alerts and work orders
Act as liaison with Finance on yearly depreciation and warranty claims, and their implications
Provide asset lifecycle duration & RMA information for reliability and performance analysis
Work with NPI (New Product Introduction) team on asset serialization requirements for new products
Assist Supply Chain and Logistics with asset tracking troubleshooting
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI’s, feedback mechanisms, and reporting methodologies to enable data-driven decision-making
Build and develop relationship with vendor and business partners
Collaborate with leadership team to grow and the develop the company
Help define the requirements, evaluate, and select an Asset Management system, then help implement and operate the system

Required Skills
Strong organizational, managerial, and verbal/written communications skills
Experience building scalable solutions, defining roadmaps, and translating strategic initiatives into tactical, objective, definitive plans
Experience implementing and administering cloud-based asset management services
Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks
Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a high-paced, cross-functional work environment while actively engaging in technical, financial, and logistics discussions as appropriate
Proven ability to leverage your communication skills to lead change through consensus building
Passion for analyzing information to identify trends, diagnose problem areas, and clearly define effective solutions
Optimistic, proactive, innovative, team player interested in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks

Required Experience
Requires a BS degree from an accredited college or university
2-5 years of inventory and asset management
2-5 years of technical project, product, or program management experience
2-5 years of experience in a highly technical role (IT Asset Management, Systems Support, NOC Support)
