Role Description:
Form Energy is seeking a Process Engineer who is at the beginning of their career, has a solid foundation, and is interested in joining our manufacturing operations team within the commercial operations group. This is an exciting opportunity to join our talented and growing team at our high-volume advanced battery manufacturing facility in Weirton, WV.

This team focuses on meeting Form Factory One’s (FF1) operational needs, including facilities management, planning, and maintaining facilities equipment and high-volume manufacturing lines. We will employ over 750 people at FF1 and have an annual production capacity of 500 megawatts of our novel iron-iron battery energy storage system.

The Process Engineer will work with cross-functional teams on the factory floor to identify any issues on the production line and perform a root cause analysis. The main objective is eliminating inefficiencies, reducing assembly time, and increasing productivity and yield. The process engineer will be crucial in optimizing and developing processes and equipment for manufacturing products at scale for Form Factory 1.

What You’ll Do:
Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity. Identify opportunities for automation and implement technological solutions to streamline production workflows.
Conduct root cause analyses for recurring issues and implement corrective & preventive measures.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any production issues and implement corrective actions.
Feedback challenges in manufacturing to our design engineering and advanced manufacturing counterparts for iteration in future products or designs.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering designs.

What You’ll Bring:
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering or related field
1 – 4 years of industry experience with a good foundation of analytical and problem-solving skills
A clear communicator with excellent communication and collaboration skills and able to work across a range of engineering and business functions
An internship or experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired
Machine shop and project management experience and proficiency in CAD are a plus
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
