Ambri, an energy startup commercializing innovative battery technology developed at MIT, is seeking an experienced and high performing Supply Chain Engineer . This candidate will be responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with Ambri’s needs for achieving an efficient, cost-effective and high-performing supply chain to support all technology development efforts. This role will require superior engineering skills meshed with interpersonal skills to successfully iterate upon and communicate engineering designs both with colleagues at Ambri and among a diverse group of vendors. This individual will manage vendor relationships, requiring exceptional analytical skills to understand and project supply requirements, and superb attention to detail. The position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt, and inventory control of the products and services requisitioned.

Responsibilities Include:
Working with Ambri’s technology development team on design issues, communicating those designs to vendors and iterating upon those designs through feedback from the vendors

Securing and analyzing quotations, negotiating prices and terms with suppliers, and recommending suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness

Initiating purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and special tools

Managing inventory for products and services consistent with production and product development requirements

Coordinating quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers

Studying market trends, engineering developments and manufacturing process improvements, and maintaining procurement alignment with this direction

Evaluating current and prospective suppliers in respect to their supply capabilities, and competence in transportation logistics, inventory control and overall management

Conducting onsite reviews of supplier facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery issues

Arranging for submission and inspection of sample products as required

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering

Two (2) years or more of work experience in a related field

Previous experience with ERP/Microsoft NAV experience is a plus

Capable of individual accomplishment and team collaboration

Strong work ethic and positive working attitude

Strong organizational, verbal and communication skills
