The Commercial Manager will be responsible to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define and drive the commercial strategy, profitability and customer responses for assigned deals. This individual is responsible for leading the demand to order (DTO) process, and providing high quality proposals/quotes to our customer base. In this role, you will spearhead the overall deal formulation including project management, risk compliance per defined policies, financial health, response management, contracting, negotiations and internal handoffs with accountability for meeting quality, process compliance and business objectives.
Provide competitive quotes built on winning pricing strategies and equitable terms & conditions.
Own opportunities from the initial customer request to contract closure.
Be the focal point of broad cross functional team while coordinating all inputs and outcomes to maximize customer value and meet business goals.
Lead the transactional deal process (DTO) having the ability to structure creative win-win solutions.
Spearhead the deal reviews to ensure that all risks, mitigation strategies and business approvals are properly secured and reflected in the scope, schedule, financials and overall quote/response.
Interface with the Region Sales teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that will meet/exceed customer requirements and business goals & objectives.
Manage workload with accountability for business KPIs – order budgets, proposal timeliness, cycle time, hit rate/win rate, risk compliance and project profitability.
Develop, in conjunction with legal, appropriate terms & conditions and contracts.
Support the deal team during negotiations to ensure successful closure. Own a clean and comprehensive handoff to the execution/deployment team
Strong commercial experience with the ability to structure creative deals for customer solutions, negotiate contracts, and deal effectively with customers.
Experience in sales, commercial finance, contract negotiation, risk and/or project management.
Excellent written and analytical skills.
Industry knowledge/competitive landscape understanding is preferred.
Good working knowledge of legal aspects and contracting requirements.
General understanding of utilities and specific knowledge concerning utility distribution systems.
Must have proficient multitasking, project and time management skills.
Computer skills that include Microsoft Office.
Ability to influence others.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
MBA a plus.
5-7 years’ experience
