Reporting to the SVP, Sales & Marketing, the Sales Director, (SD) will be expected to originate new leads and develop relationships as well as support the execution of solar deals through the core development stages. He or she will help achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned market(s). Experience identifying decision makers, initiating contact, and building relationships is required, as well as the desire and entrepreneurial mindset to operate successfully within a fast-paced, results driven environment.

Responsibilities:
Initiating contact with key decision makers at pre-qualified target prospects
Engaging, and developing relationships with target prospects
Fully articulating the Safari value proposition to prospective customers
Participating in commercial process from lead generation through signed contract
Successful transition of certain opportunities to the Safari Business Development Team
Logging all communications in CRM database
Assisting in the creation of lead generation letters, project proposals, Letters of Intent, and other required material
Working closely with prospects to understand their key goals and objectives, and assist the Safari Business Development team in the execution of signed contracts
Near Term Goals and Objectives – Measures of Success

Quickly come up to speed on Safari commercial processes and training material
Rapidly build solar energy domain knowledge to create market credibility
Grasp information on existing markets, customers, and projects in a timely manner
Develop and hone an origination approach that yields a high hit rate
Develop, build, and manage internal relationships
Foster an environment of cohesive teamwork that delivers best-in-class service and superior results to prospective customers
Qualifications:
Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking, and able to thrive in the fast pace growth oriented environment. In addition, the Sales Director must possess:

Minimum of 3 years of a successful track record of sales experience, preferably with a real estate company, financial services provider or commercial-scale solar developer or successful sales/structured finance track record within the renewable energy sector
Proven experience originating and cultivating relationships at the C-Suite level and across different levels of key influencers with a prospective customer
Experience working within a defined commercial process geared towards maximum effectiveness
Experience self-generating customer leads and exceptional follow-up skills
A track record of achievement as evidenced by exceeding quota, building a new book of business, and receiving sales achievement awards
Track-record of selling complex transactions with multiple parties
Outstanding organizational and people skills
Understanding of engineering and renewable energy systems preferred
Desire to play a key role in a high-growth company

Bachelor’s Degree from top-tier school
