The primary focus for this position is to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team in the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Strata Solar, LLC’s EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements within an assigned region. The geographical area for this role will be northern North Carolina and Virginia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the maintenance and implementation of safety programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.
Performs the role of investigative lead in complex investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage incidents. Provides root cause analysis by examining evidence gathered from conducting in-depth victim, casualty and witness interviews, and photographic evidence. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and ensures proper records/documents are maintained.
Conduct, coordinate, and track various training to support company programs.
Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices.
Conduct regular site visits.
Conduct written Site Audits and/or Job Behavior Observations at a frequency dictated by management and/or client.
Drive safety incentive program.
Keep safety credentials current.
Represent Strata Solar during OSHA inspections.
Assist in training endeavors when requested.
Coordinates with others for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently and effectively.
May respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate health / safety/ security concerns.
Work Experience Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of low and medium voltage electrical safety.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to all aspects of solar construction and construction equipment and tools.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks.
Demonstrated awareness and understanding of EHS policy and management system, the importance of confirming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.
Knowledge of power generation mechanical and electrical systems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
AAS in Safety or related field (preferred) or three (3) years of experience in a related field
Professional Certification/License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire):
Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer
Authorized CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment: The environmental conditions for this job range from indoor activity to inclement outdoor extremes of cold, heat, wind, and various forms of precipitation. The widest variance of noise is also encountered.
Ability to walk and perform site inspections 70% of the day.
Lifting up to 35 pounds.
Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances.
Visual ability (20/20 corrected or uncorrected) to observe and detect signs of danger.
Ability to travel up to 75% or more is required.
