The Interconnection Manager position at Cypress Creek is a dynamic job that tracks the Utility construction schedules and testing to assure that the EPC team at Cypress Creek can complete final interconnection with the Utility on schedule. A very important aspect of this job is to create and maintain a positive relationship with the Utility. This position also communicates across most groups within the Cypress Creek structure, as it is necessary to follow a project from the first meeting with the Utility until the solar farm is cleared to produce power.

Minimum Qualifications

Electric Utility experience or Engineer or Project Manager with renewable development experience for 2 or more years
Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering is preferred. Other engineering degrees and quantitative-focused majors will be considered
Knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, preferably utility scale solar. PV installer qualified preferred
Prior experience and relationships with utilities
Ability to interpret documents produced in AutoCAD, GIS, and other discipline-relevant software
Ability to work on own initiative as well as with a team
Extremely organized
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others
Crisp, clear, fact-based, and able to handle the give and take that comes with being involved in a high performance, change-oriented management team
Must have the confidence to challenge the status quo and initiate constructive change
Self-motivated, detail oriented, proactive and committed to excellence
Strong Communication skills – ability to distill technical information to layperson and relevant information to developers and engineers
Ability to multitask and prioritize needs with timely responses
Ability to review project documents for technical requirements
Able to manage a myriad of competing priorities

Scope – Cypress Creek Central Distribution sites (1-100 MW): TX, MN, CO, MI, WI, IL
Coordinate with internal project managers and utility engineers/contacts to determine the best point of interconnection
Track the construction schedules and own the information flow with the appropriate utility engineers/contacts
Ensure the construction Line Diagrams are approved by the utility and the Interconnection Agreements reflect this equipment, when required
Coordinate necessary easements and encroachments between the utility, landowners, and Cypress legal department
Review all interconnection studies, interconnection agreements — identify risks or design constraints
Manage any utility related communications lines (fiber, radio, T1 or POTS)
Schedule and coordinate final interconnection with utility including: back-feed power, recloser commissioning, and witness testing
Travel requirement – up to 50%, often on short notice
Utility related due diligence of acquired projects
