We are seeking an experienced solar developer to be a Transcation Manager for the Commercial Business Unit. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team as you steer secured customer opportunities from “Award” through “Commercial Operation” in the most cost effective and time efficient manner.


Develop and execute effective transaction strategies that will get implemented upon award, and provide a nearly seamless transition from the Origination executive to the Transaction team.
Engage executive-level decision makers by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the history of the deal and what it takes to move it through to the finish line.
Drive the deal to achieve high level of customer satisfaction and maximum margin and revenue potential.
Effectively manage the buying and selling process by involving a network of key players to solve customer operational issues to help them achieve their business objectives.
Provide strategic execution and review of critical deal inputs such as estimating, design, project management, finance, Legal and more.
Ensure company leadership and original team is informed and engaged when required to secure success.
Coordinate and lead within SunPower the resources required to solve customer transactions issues.
Work closely with the customer to complete deliverables and meet timelines.
Work closely with Project Finance to fulfill the requirements for fully financeable projects, identifying weak areas and helping to develop the solutions.
Continually streamline, standardize and improve processes and templates integral to the Commercial team’s success
Provide leadership in the efforts to secure Interconnection and Incentives.

Form deep working relationships with other SunPower departments and key personnel, including Product Management, Development, Design, Engineering and Operations, to streamline the delivery of projects.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience
Advanced Degree is desirable
OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
Preferred Requirements:

Successful track-record in closing new business with enterprise account targets
Experience with growing significant customer relationships interfacing with executive-level decision makers
Experience with large and strategic customer management
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
Experience in strategic business planning
Strong financial business acumen
Strong background in value based selling
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with contracting structures for on-site and off-site solar and energy management contracts including but not limited to: PPAs, Contract for Differences, Virtual PPAs, & EPC Contracts.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in an engineering, business or finance discipline. Master’s degree a plus.
