The Assistant General Counsel – Regulatory – will provide professional legal advice, counsel, support and guidance to Invenergy’s business operations, focused on the regulatory interests of the company as related to its renewable and thermal generation portfolio.
This attorney will:
support Invenergy’s activities by rendering legal advice to the Company’s development and operations teams and will have substantial prior experience with state and/or federal regulatory matters, including representation around electric and/or gas issues before a state public utility commission and/or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission;
have experience with (a) preparing briefs, motions, case evaluation summaries and other documents as required by the nature of a case, (b) preparing witnesses for testimony, (c) conducting trials in state, federal and/or administrative courts, and (d) preparing filings before FERC and/or state public utility commissions and other government bodies related to project purchase and sale, financing or other project and/or corporate matters;
support development, legal, finance, operations and other departments with responding to discrete questions regarding interconnection, transmission and other regulatory matters; and
assist with other general legal matters and various corporate transactions as they arise, and other matters of interest to the company.
5 – 7 years of relevant experience required.
Experience in the areas of FERC and state-level regulatory
Strong organizational, time management, and oral and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work product.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on the situation.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
The position may require overtime and scheduling to fit the needs of the client.
