The Manager will support the Special Projects group by providing new product development, business development analysis and market strategies, facilitating customer and partner proposals, negotiating and managing the execution of business capture via acquisition to promote the near, mid and long-term success of EDF Renewable Energy’s (EDF RE) business. The Position will require analyzing new market structures, cultivating relationships with clients, customers and potential project partners and negotiating term sheet agreements. The position will have a multi-technology and multi-regional focus and develop analysis and strategies in the near and mid-term for the executive team and regional development centers.

Working Conditions:
Approximately 60-70% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Up to 30-40% of the time is spent onsite with clients, partners, counterparties and trade shows creating and executing on business opportunities. Fulfills all delegated tasks, many of which may be loosely associated with the primary assignment of the job description.

Facilitate customer outreach plan and positioning to the market, including ITC, PTC strategy, market penetration strategy, analysis of markets, financing, etc.
Analyze US current and future energy markets to quantify potential growth segments for EDF RE.
Economic modeling.
Develop new market penetration strategies by quantifying market potential as well as providing a competitive analysis and EDF best positioning.
Develop competitive pricing analysis and strategies for penetration of existing and new markets.
Review regulatory / technology changes that may result in potential for new product offerings.
Cultivate relationships with partners and clients, negotiate term sheet agreements.
Negotiate and lead new project acquisition transactions to support company needs.
Use third-party research tools to identify and prioritize potential customers at Utilities and Corporate Purchasers.
Conduct research into customers’ businesses and energy procurement activities and develop initial ideas for EDF RE offerings.
Anticipate major procurement events and industry news, including RFPs and integrated resource plans, keeping the team informed as well as synthesizing content and suggesting potential EDF RE offerings.
Manage day to day development activities.
Work with Corporate team members and Regional units to lead capture plans, preparing briefings and presentations, proposal planning and staffing, and technical, oral and cost proposal execution.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director, Special Projects and/or his/her designees.

Master’s degree in Business, Finance or related field.
5+ years of experience in Project Economics and Market analysis.
Prior experience in mergers and acquisitions including diligence, negotiation of terms and execution.
Prior experience in RFP response processes, proposal creation and/or knowledge management.
Strong attention to detail and inclination towards structure, organization, and process – as well as the ability to examine, question, and improve on the inputs and recommendations of others.
5+ yrs experience in renewable energy or another energy field.
Capacity and willingness to perform job duties under time pressure from external and internal deadlines.
Prior project development, or wind or solar project experience.
Proven organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts, track progress and needs of each, and provide high quality deliverables accurately and on time
Able to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple internal relationships simultaneously
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Outstanding interpersonal oral and written communication skills required.
Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player
