Position Specific Description

The primary function of the Project Manager role is to lead the development of new business opportunities, technical solutions, and renewable energy projects that result in the growth of our wind, solar, and battery storage development pipeline. The position will include responsibility for all renewable development activities within a region in the western United States.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with cross-functional teams across the organization to prospect new projects, identify commercial opportunities, and manage project development activities from cradle to grave.
  • Leading commercial negotiations and project acquisition efforts.
  • Developing a regional support network of community leaders, regulators, legislators, and consultants.
  • Coordinating key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Ensuring completion of key project development milestones on time and under budget.
  • Leading teams of subject matter experts in: establishing site control; performing key risk and fatal flaw analysis; permitting at the local, state, and federal level; understanding critical environmental, transmission, and resource issues; performing economic project valuation.
  • Participating in negotiating agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Fostering external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Partnering with leadership to identify key risks and increase our business development efforts, directly impacting NextEra Energy’s bottom line. You will be responsible for presenting your updates and findings to Development leadership.
  • Traveling on a regular basis to support all project development activities.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

Experience

  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Experience working in MS Office Suite

This job coordinates allocation of resources, schedules, and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position participates in all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.


Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leads and facilitates the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Supports due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Assists in the construction of contractual arrangements for project development
  • Participates in negotiating agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
