We are currently seeking a Business Development Associate to help us accelerate the shift to clean energy by creating long term value for Apex from customers, markets, and relationships.

You will come in to this role with industry-based experience, a background in origination, a familiarity with energy markets, and an understanding of renewable energy project economics and financial modeling. You have an advanced degree in an energy or business-related field and/or several years of experience working in a related field. You understand how to support the origination and closing of both power sales and REC sales, are comfortable leading the analysis of various aspects of the renewable energy business development process (i.e. utilities, commercial and industrial purchasers, and competing power suppliers), and are ready to create business opportunities from these trends.

You are someone who enjoys analyzing and presenting relevant data in order to create opportunity for value to persist, as well as helping to establish and cultivate rapport with various stakeholders. You’ll work collaboratively with our internal teams at every stage of development to help us successfully get our projects to the finish line.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Anticipates, identifies, and interprets industry trends and implications and applies this knowledge to penetrate market segments and gain new customers
Advises and helps customers identify, design, configure, and support customized applications and solutions
Builds a pipeline of opportunities with a high win probability
Drives the achievement of revenue growth objectives
Establishes capture management and proposal development processes
Gathers intelligence and develops competitive assessments regarding upcoming opportunities
Manages client service functions, including development, sales, and post-sales support activities
Leads the identification, evaluation, and capture of new business opportunities.
Anticipates, identifies, and interprets industry trends and implications and applies this knowledge to penetrate market segments and gain new customers
Works closely with senior management and the Asset Management and Operations Teams
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
Either a graduate degree in an energy- or business-related field or several years of direct industry experience
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work proactively and productively with limited supervision
Desire to work in and learn about various aspects of the utility-scale renewable energy industry
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
