Power Marketing and Origination coverage for Pattern’s North American development pipeline.
Commercial & Industrial coverage to initiate contact for potential renewable power purchase agreements.
Identify potential off-take counterparties across the breadth of potential buyers.
Coordinate responses to RFP requests for renewable energy.
Establish relationships with key renewable off-take opportunities with municipal and cooperatives.
Work with development group to identify new opportunities based on changing renewable dynamics – e.g. Clean Power Plan, Renewable Portfolio Standards changes, etc.
Initiate, negotiate and execute power purchase agreements with oversight from Sr. Director.
Understand and explain internally ISO markets and key commercial and operational aspects.
Provide multi-level internal support to provide information and support to accounting, operations, finance, etc. to support implementation and on-going maintenance of commercial off-take arrangement.
BA/BS in business, finance, marketing, or engineering.
MBA a plus.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 to 8 years in energy and/or power marketing experience.
Experience closing long-term off-take agreements
Understanding of US power markets to include Independent System Operators.
Must possess strengths in the following:
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complicated subjects/transactions.
Ability to work well with several different functional teams (e.g. development, finance, accounting).
Must be numerate and able to work easily with valuations.
Ability to work well as a team member and a team leader.
Take initiative to find new counterparties and learn new markets.
