Altaeros seeks Wireless Research Interns to play a key role in developing 4G, 5G and advanced wireless systems for
Altaeros’ autonomous Super Tower telecom platform. The ideal candidate needs to assist in at least one of followings
areas: 1) Radio Resource Management & Protocol in 4G and 5G; 2) Modelling for System Level Simulations of Mobile
Communication Network; 3) RF Channels Modelling and Measurement. Candidates who have relevant skills in more than
one area will be given consideration. We are looking for makers – please don’t hesitate to share your portfolio.
Altaeros’ product, The SuperTower, uses Altaeros’ core autonomous aerostat technology to lift telecom equipment over
800 feet above ground, where it can provide the equivalent coverage of 30 cell towers from each installation. By doing so,
Altaeros aims to radically lower the cost of building the rural telecom networks that will help connect the 4 Billion people
living offline today. Altaeros provides a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and is made up of people passionate about
solving some of the biggest challenges out there. Our interns are expected to quickly take on significant responsibility as
they work with the team to further the company’s goal of making modern infrastructure truly ubiquitous.

Junior, Senior, Graduate Student, or recent graduate in Wireless Telecommunication or Electrical Engineering or
similar field. Expectational first year students will be also considered
Proficiency with C, C++, PHYTON, MATLAB/ Simulink
Practical experience in simulation-based analysis, e.g. ns2, ns3, OPNET,
Understanding of digital signal processing and/or radio /network protocols
Experience in the standardization of wireless communications systems, e.g.
Ability to work independently, to deliver high quality results on time
‘Startup Attitude’: Quick learner, passionate, nimble & adaptable
Design and development of system-level simulation platforms (e.g. NS-3
LENA, WM-SIM, MATLAB LTE System Toolbox) to evaluate system
performance under multi-path-fading channel propagation and MIMO
scheme for LTE, UMTS and 5G technologies.
Performance analysis and feasibility studies using simulations, experiments and analytical modeling.
LTE/5G handovers algorithms implementation and soft/hard handover mechanism
