Work with the Engineering staff to support plant projects, both capital and ops/maintenance. Work as an entry level tower technician doing tasks spanning all aspects of plant construction including performance/efficiency, contract and project management, making process improvement recommendations, supporting requests from operations and maintenance. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.
Position is for the Rush Creek Project a construction support for a 600MW wind farm in Limon, Colorado. Job duties include overseeing construction of wind turbines, electrical substation, Operations/Maintenance buildings, and civil earthwork restoration. Daily activities include observing contractor crews to assure they comply with site safety and quality rules, and standard work instructions (for the given task). Potential activities include wind tower climbing and inspection.
Due to the distance from job site to major metropolitan areas, candidates will spend a minimum of four (4) days locally (in hotel/apartment) and work approximately 10 hour days. assistance with monthly expenses will be provided to offset living near the job site.
Must be enrolled in a wind turbine technician program
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally
Must be self- motivated, have good mechanical aptitude, and ability to work well with others
Needs to have completed their sophomore year, must be going into their junior or senior year”.
Course work in wind turbine technology and an interest in the power industry desirable
