Monsanto has an exciting internship opportunity for an in-progress PhD scientist that has a passion to innovate and deliver new concepts. The candidate will work with the Applied Genome Modifications team, which leads development of novel gene editing and plant transformation capabilities for Monsanto’s row crops. The candidate will contribute to gene editing and plant transformation in a row crop system while collaborating broadly across Monsanto’s R&D organization. To be successful, the candidate should bring some familiarity with molecular biology, tissue culture, genomics, and a working knowledge of statistical analysis.
Responsibilities for the position include experimental design and timely execution that will result in data-driven decisions, documentation of experiments, filing of invention disclosures, and communication of conclusions in reports and presentations. The candidate will be expected to follow all safety guidelines and maintain operational excellence through quality management and good housekeeping. This internship will be held during the summer of 2018 (May 14-August 3).
