UGE is hiring for this position to focus on two specific markets. The position is based within these markets with occasional travel to UGE’s New York City office:

“Mid-Atlantic”: Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey, Washington DC, or surrounding area.

“New England”: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Eastern Connecticut, Southern New Hampshire, Southern Vermont, or surrounding area.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Global Director of Development.


Origination – Create qualified solar development leads and turn them into opportunities. Collaborate with internal support team to create proposals tailored to each lead/opportunity.

Origination Channels – Identify and develop origination channels to fill the opportunity ‘top of the funnel’, including evaluating and pursuing the below:
Sales Agents
Real estate management firms
Direct Outreach (Email Campaigns, Direct Calls)
Passive leads (Incoming calls/inquiries)
Industry shows and conventions
Networking events

Identify Optimum Solution – Identify the solar solution that maximizes value for our customer and maintains the desired margin for UGE.

Client Relationship – Responsible for maintaining a good image of UGE towards our existing and prospective customers through the origination, business development, project development, and contracting steps.

Strategy – Responsible for testing and adjusting strategies that are aimed to maximize opportunity generation.

Required Skills and Experience

Ability to work and develop relationships in the sophisticated real estate environment
Basic knowledge of the solar industry, with an appetite and capability to understand the complexities of solar policy, economics, and incentives over time
Familiarity with Excel to use UGE models and understand a project’s economics
Outstanding networker, comfortable in new environments to spread UGE’s message in a confident and concise manner
Dominating sense of initiative
Detail oriented when tracking sales activity, creating proposals, and discussing with clients
Proven ability to work with decision makers, CFOs, owners, etc.
Willingness for day/overnight travel throughout the area for customer meetings

Individual Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
