The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to participate in leading research on interfaces to understand and improve the state-of-the art. This will be done both by exposing buried interfaces in conventional devices and developing new architectures to enable enhanced control over the front interface. The work will be performed in a team environment with scientists from NREL and academia and world-class characterization support. The postdoc will be responsible for disseminating the results in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
Required Skills: Semiconductor deposition and thermal processing, solid-state device physics, device fabrication, materials characterization, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong publication record.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
PhD within the last 3 years in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Experience with CdTe and/or other II-VI materials, photovoltaic device processing, vacuum deposition, surface analysis, polycrystalline and epitaxial device processing.
