This position is based in Denver or Boulder – must be a resident of Colorado to be considered for the position. We offer a flexible schedule between working from home and in the office.

Position Overview

Namaste Solar is seeking an experienced C&I Project Developer to provide critical support to the Commercial Sales Team. The role is intended to focus on customer education, developing new commercial business opportunities, and selling commercial solar projects. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. The C&I Project Developer will report to the Director of Commercial Sales and work closely with the Commercial Sales team.

Responsibilities

Develop trust with clients by providing exceptional customer service through verbal and written communication
Maintain relationships with key players in solar and other relevant industries
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with the need to adapt quickly
Maintain high awareness of the competitive environment, electricity market trends, current pricing strategies, etc.
Lead client meetings/presentations
Close deals

Essential Functions (Specific Tasks/Deliverables)

Sales
Answer commercial phone line and respond to online inquiries
Qualify incoming leads
Generate new leads through a variety of prospecting activities and campaigns
Lead communication, development, and management of business partnerships with C-Suite, VP and Director level contacts in commercial/industrial market segments

Analyze utility bills to determine the appropriate PV size and rate tariff
Develop and present PV layouts for rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted projects with Helioscope or in coordination with the front-end design team
Conduct site visits as required to evaluate site conditions
Compose and present financial analyses for potential clients, including NPV, IRR, and cash flow that account for situation-specific variables
Compose and present proposals and guide prospects through the sales cycle that lead to successful projects for all stakeholders
Negotiate contracts
Be accountable for proposals, pricing/profitability, risk, terms & conditions, and customer satisfaction
Achieve or exceed sales goals
Leverage Salesforce to manage leads, track results, and communicate targets and status to leadership and other internal teams

Manage and update source documentation

Commercial Marketing Support:
Attend conferences
Identify and schedule lunch-and-learns for prospective customers or project partners such as architectural and engineering firms, commercial real estate developers, etc.
Coordinate Namaste Solar-hosted ‘commercial solar 101’ events for prospective customers, or project partners such as architectural and engineering firms, commercial real estate developers, etc.
Create and support cold call, email, or mailer campaigns
Coordinate drone photography and project write-ups for marketing kit
Collaborate with marketing on published content
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated commercial/B2B solar sales experience, including but not limited to developing proposals and presentations targeting key decision-makers
Interest or familiarity with economic, technical, and construction aspects of solar photovoltaic systems
Excellent teamwork skills – ability to foster a positive team environment through collaborative decision-making and clear communication
Strong project management/organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; proficiency with Salesforce a plus

You’ll be even more prepared for the job if you have

Knowledge of PV system sizing and Helioscope design
Proficient at reading plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents
Knowledge of and comfort communicating key financing concepts – Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), Simple Payback, Depreciation

Compensation And Terms

This position is full-time and non-commission
Flexibility in where the position is based: Boulder or Denver, Colorado with some work-from-home opportunity after onboarding
This position will require local travel ~5% of the time
Salary dependent on experience
CIGNA health insurance and dental insurance within the first 30 days

Physical demands & work environment

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, and sit. Employee must be able to speak and hear for customer calls. Must occasionally climb ladders on site visits. Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time
Work environment: Office setting. The noise level is usually moderate
