We are looking for a Principal or Senior Analyst – the role will be assigned based on candidate’s experience. The candidate is expected to:
Develop a methodology to forecast voluntary market prices and size of exchanges;
Strong communication skills in written and verbal English are necessary. Must have a flair for conveying an interesting story around data, often working to tight deadlines. Must be comfortable interacting with clients and industry stakeholders across different time zones and as part of a global team.
Wood Mackenzie’s Carbon Research team aspires to enable clients across the energy value chain to understand and respond to market and portfolio-related climate risks and opportunities. We are a fast-growing team helping to drive the pace and scale of the energy transition and serving different customer segments with integrated analysis. Some of the services we provide include calculation and benchmarking of emissions across the full value chain of commodities, tracking and forecasting of carbon prices, and research and reporting on carbon markets.
Create industry-leading insights and thought leadership pieces to provide clients with a clear understanding of offsetting project valuations qualitatively and quantitatively.
Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker internally and increasingly externally. Represent Wood Mackenzie’s carbon offsetting research and actively develop visibility through press, social media and elsewhere.
An analytical mindset and an eye for detail, which has been proven in your work experience to date. Ability to comfortably interpret data, and articulate your findings in a clear and insightful manner.

Develop content on compliance and voluntary carbon markets in the Americas and beyond.

Adapt our carbon offsets methodologies to specific features for the Americas markets;
Be up to date on developments in the Americas carbon markets and beyond, including compliance pricing, low carbon fuel standards, carbon offsetting and VCM, as well as policy changes.
This role will serve as part of Carbon research team. The candidate will specialize on carbon markets in the Americas, although they should also be prepared to have a global overview. This is an excellent opportunity to join a strong, global team and make a major contribution to decarbonization and the energy transition at a global scale. The role reports to the Head of Carbon Markets.

As part of our global Carbon team, you will lead our carbon markets research in the Americas on both compliance and voluntary carbon markets. You will play an important leading role in the development, expansion, and calibration of our carbon pricing modelling capabilities, as well as in the expansion of our knowledge base of the carbon markets.
