California is paving the way towards carbon-free homes and is leading the nation through decarbonization. As part of the Energy Efficiency Team, you will support TECH Clean California, the state’s flagship heat pump market transformation initiative for space and water heating. TECH Clean California makes installing heat pumps easy and accessible for contractors and customers, demonstrates scalable solutions to key market barriers via regional pilot projects, and informs the state’s decarbonization decision-making with public data, analyses, and case studies. You will support program implementation, market research, and data analysis, while focusing on equity and environmental social justice. You will also get to choose a capstone project which will inform the team.

Project opportunities include:
Get hands-on experience: Provide direct support for TECH Clean California, which may include application processing, outreach, or data analysis
Interface with a variety of industry professionals and expand your professional network: Work with the TECH Clean California team which includes cross-departmental staff
Decide your capstone project: Choose between developing a written study for publication, data analysis report to inform our efforts internally, or developing a plan for increasing equity participation either from customers or community-based organizations
To enable you for success, we are seeking candidates with these qualifications:
Commitment to advancing energy and environmental equity
Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
Data analysis skills
Compensation:
Undergraduate student: $20/hr
Graduate student: $23/hr
Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
