About The Role

The System Engineer works with a team to design, implement, and maintain innovative and reliable services to maximize manufacturing production. The position has the primary responsibility of ensuring the smooth operation of the Manufacturing Execution System through configuration, monitoring, trouble shooting, and repair tasks.

What You Will Do

Analyze large sets of data
Easily communicate complex ideas through clear written and verbal communication
Maintain vigilance and attention to detail during analysis to arrive at correct conclusions
Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability
Develop solutions, improvements, and related products
Work closely with colleagues, developers, testers, and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
Support users on change control and system updates
Provide end user training and documentation
Remain up to date with technical and industry developments
Utilize available monitoring and diagnostic tools to proactively identify potential issues before they affect production
Research and diagnose problems that cannot be immediately resolved, working with software, hardware, and AESC Global Support to open and resolve support cases as necessary
Use proper protocol for routine reporting of problems and concerns
Log daily production calls, actions taken, observations made, and relevant pass‐down information
Participate in technical document creation and maintenance as is appropriate
Provide off‐hours support as necessary for system maintenance and downtime events

Technical Duties And Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the local Manufacturing Execution System
Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected failures of server and network hardware/software
Research and analyze large data requests from business users
Utilize SQL to develop ad-hoc query’s based on user requests and for required troubleshooting
Update/Insert/Delete data in Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
Analyze and troubleshoot business logic of various systems components

Provide technical support to customers for hardware, software, and end user related

Qualifications

What You Need

This position will involve design, configuration, and troubleshooting in a variety of technologies and services, including but not limited to the following. While experience and proficiency in all of these environments (excluding SQL) is not required, it will receive consideration.

Oracle PL/SQL – Writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions.
MS SQL Server
Web Development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc)
Python
Programmable Logic Controllers
Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Microsoft client and server OS
Linux
Microsoft Active Directory
Windows scripting (VBScript, PowerShell, MS.Net, etc.)
DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc.
TCP/IP networking (switch/router configuration, VLANs, subnetting, etc.)
Delmia Apriso

Non-Technical Qualifications

Excellent personal communication skills
Strong problem‐solving capabilities
Ability and enthusiasm to work independently
Completes tasks on time
Identifies and communicates obstacles proactively

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent education/experience will be considered
Degrees or experience could include computer, electronics, industrial studies, and/or engineering
Relevant certifications will be considered
