🌟 Now Hiring: Environmental Planning Specialist (Energy Commission Specialist II) | California Energy Commission
Are you passionate about making a real impact on California’s energy future? The California Energy Commission is seeking an Environmental Planning Specialist (ECS II) to join our Land Use and Public Services Unit.
In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert on some of the state’s most highly complex and sensitive energy facility projects and planning studies. Your work will focus on areas such as:
Environmental justice
Land use (including agricultural and forestry resources)
Socioeconomics (population, housing, public services, recreation)
Transportation
Visual resources (aesthetics)
As an Environmental Planning Specialist (ECS II), you’ll:
âś… Conduct in-depth technical analyses to evaluate environmental effects of proposed energy facilities, policies, and plans.
âś… Provide expert guidance under the Warren-Alquist Act and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
âś… Develop solutions to controversial and high-profile issues that impact California communities.
âś… Lead or mentor other technical specialists on the most challenging projects.
