Legislative Analyst with CA Energy Commission (AGPA/SSA)

*This position is California-based and eligible for telework. Candidates must reside in or plan on relocating to California to be eligible.*

California Energy Commission is seeking a Legislative Analyst to join our Office of Governmental and International Affairs!

This position will be instrumental in independently preparing analysis of legislation affecting the Commission, researching and responding to requests for information, and preparing testimony and correspondence related to the Commission.

Salary Range: $5684.00 – $7114.00 per month

Minimum Qualifications for Associate Governmental Program Analyst:
1. Experience: Three years of professional analytical experience performing duties in one or a combination of the following or closely related areas: budgeting, management analysis, personnel, planning, program evaluation, or policy analysis.

2. Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for a maximum of four years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.)

Desirable Qualifications:
Excellent verbal, writing and critical thinking skills.
Ability to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision and within specified timeframes.
Skill in clearly and concisely communicating sensitive and complex information to a lay audience.
Ability to coordinate disparate information from multiple sources into a cohesive whole.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of and interest in the States’ energy policies and goals, the legislative process, and legislative analysis.
