RMI compensates based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, a new Senior Associate joins at the minimum to mid salary range of $84,000 to $103,000. You would also have an additional 5% bonus target!

RMI is seeking Senior Associates for our Carbon-Free Electricity Program’s Global Electricity Transition team.
Graduate degree in one of the applicable fields noted above.
Develop insights and recommendations to support the power sector transition with a focus on emerging markets and developing economies, drawing on various change levels such as deployment of technical solutions, capacity building, mobilization of capital, or power sector planning.

Supporting an electricity regulator to develop a framework for enabling battery energy storage project development, evaluating the viability of a shift in a utility’s investment plan to reduce fossil resource capacity in favor of clean energy, interviewing stakeholders to assess the applicability of an innovative utility business model in a new geography, or supporting a utility or project developer on strategies to mobilize transition finance for power sector projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Contribute to RMI teams through facilitating events and conversations with diverse government and electricity-and finance-sector stakeholders.
Support work to generate project pipelines and support enabling conditions for clean energy and energy transition projects in RMI’s critical geographies.

Senior Associates are independent contributors that have developed significant subject matter expertise in one or more areas relevant to RMI’s work. At more advanced levels, Senior Associates also manage projects and the contributions of other staff to their projects.
The Global Electricity Transition team within RMI’s Carbon-Free Electricity Program works across the electricity system to support the transition to clean, affordable, and reliability electricity globally, particularly in emerging markets and developing economies. We work closely with utilities, governments, financial institutions, and other NGOs across a range of topics, such as the transition away from fossil-powered generation, the deployment and integration of renewable energy and grid flexibility technologies, and mobilization of finance. We employ a unique combination of research, in-country engagement, and collaboration to support individuals and organizations to innovate and implement transformative energy solutions.
