We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing who will lead the product marketing team and be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for our company’s products. In this role you will craft compelling messaging, oversee product launches, and analyze market trends to inform product strategy.

This role will manage a team of product marketers and report to our VP of Marketing.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic planning and team leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive product marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
Collaborate with the product management team to understand product features, benefits, and unique selling points.
Set goals and prioritize initiatives and team deliverables in collaboration with product management, integrated marketing, and other stakeholders.
Model best in class product marketing practices for your team.
Coach, mentor, and develop a world-class product marketing team.
Messaging and positioning:
Create clear and compelling product messaging and positioning that resonates with the target audience.
Tell compelling stories to bring our solutions to life in the market.
Ensure consistent and cohesive communication across all channels in collaboration with the integrated marketing team.
Manage the solutions brand architecture and train the rest of the organization on changes to that architecture as needed.
Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy:
Lead the planning and execution of product launches, including coordinating with cross-functional teams such as sales, integrated marketing, business development, and customer success.
Develop and execute GTM plans to drive product adoption and market penetration.
Lead cross-functional team to evolve and inform our pricing strategy.
Market analysis:
Conduct market research and talk to customers to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
Use market insights to inform product development and positioning.
Regularly collect, synthesize, and communicate market insights to the rest of the organization.
Content development:
Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, such as product datasheets, presentations, and case studies.
Collaborate with content creators to develop engaging and informative product-related content.
Sales enablement:
Communicate the vision and value of new products to the sales team and develop sales tools and training that facilitate effective sales of our product.
Develop sales training materials and conduct training sessions as needed.
Performance measurement:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of product marketing initiatives.
Regularly analyze and report on the performance of product marketing performance.

Key Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Proven progressive marketing experience, with at least 4 years in B2B enterprise product marketing, with a focus on technology or relevant industry.
5+ years people management experience with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong writing skills with ability to distill complex, technical information.
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
A strategic leader who will roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to execute successful product marketing initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to align internal stakeholders (including senior leadership) in matrixed organizations to drive progress.
A bias for action and entrepreneurial mindset to make the team more efficient as we scale.
Comfortable with ambiguity and desire to continuously learn.
Passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and driving positive environmental impact.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with CRM (salesforce), marketing automation (Hubspot), and analytics platforms.
Proven experience developing compelling market positioning in a new or developing market category.
Experience working with electric utilities or IoT.
Familiarity with modern grid management and planning tools and frameworks.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 – $175,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
