The Position

Arevon is recruiting for the position of Counsel or Senior Counsel (depending on experience level), an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century.

Arevon is looking for a transactional attorney with extensive experience drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements and equipment supply agreements; strong attention to detail; an appetite for a fast-paced environment; commercial awareness; and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel that sits in our Scottsdale office, and will ideally be based there (with a hybrid in-office policy), but remote candidates will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Draft, negotiate, and manage:
Engineering, procurement and construction agreements
Equipment supply and other procurement-related agreements
Operations and maintenance agreements
Offtake agreements (including power purchase agreements and build transfer agreements)
Master services agreements, and other services agreements in connection with the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy power plants
Advise management concerning business transactions involving customers, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Proactively manage both upstream and downstream risk across multiple contracts and projects.
Assist and/or represent the company in contract negotiations with all business partners.
Advise the company concerning claims and disputes with subcontractors, suppliers, and other business partners.
Participate in the resolution of highly complex or sensitive legal issues.
Manage and control outside legal counsel and consultants.
Conduct training classes for company personnel, as needed.
Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

Juris doctor from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction.
Experience drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements.
A minimum of two years of legal experience is required. Experience in renewable energy industry is a plus.
Demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, and an ability to fulfill leadership responsibilities assigned; an ownership approach to projects and tasks is critical.
Strong understanding of the laws in areas of expertise and proficient in their interpretation and application.
Experience managing commercial disputes.
Possess effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Must be able to handle heavy workload, critical time constraints, multiple project responsibilities and continually changing priorities.
Some travel may be required.
