Who We Are Looking For
The Project Development Research Intern will be part of the Clearway Development Operations Team. The Development Team is responsible for the development and execution into construction of Clearway Energy Group’s 10 GW solar, wind, and storage project pipeline. The team works closely with the Origination, Engineering, Project Finance, and Construction teams across the full project lifecycle from origination to commissioning and all associated activities required to bring projects to successful commercial operation.
This position is part of the 12-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning in June 2024.
We are looking for current juniors or rising seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. We are also open to looking at first-year students currently pursuing an MBA or other graduate-level degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
Throughout this summer internship program, you’ll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you’ll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment. You’ll also participate in networking and learning events with your fellow intern cohort.

What You’ll Be Doing
The Project Development Research Intern Primary Responsibilities Will Include
Drive a study on how to integrate AI into our business, including an analysis to determine potential opportunities, methods, and pros/cons of integrating AI tools into the origination and development of renewable energy projects.
Coordinate inputs and feedback from functional groups and collaborate with team members on study design and framework.
Perform ad-hoc quantitative analyses to support ongoing origination, development, and financing activities for projects in various stages of development.
Assist in the preparation of detailed memos and presentations for senior management and investment committees.
Create and manage tools to monitor market activity and track internal origination strategy to identify new growth areas and M&A targets.
Support initiatives to improve the set of datasets, tools, and business activities at Clearway.
Maintain confidentiality & sensitivity with respect to all functions of DEI.
The Project Development Research Intern will be assigned an individual project and will present results to the project leadership at the end of the summer.
What You’ll Bring
Core Knowledge And Skills
Interest and fundamental knowledge in renewable energy, cleantech, power markets, or infrastructure finance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy. You’re here because you believe in and want to help create a clean energy future.
Strong interpersonal skills. You’re willing to ask lots of questions, listen to your colleagues, and contribute your ideas.

Preferred Qualifications
Prior work or internship experience in Energy, AI, Computer Science, Data Analysis.
Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is not eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
Salary Range Across All U.S. Locations
$21—$29 USD
