Summary: We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Corporate Development Associate/Manager/Director to join our Project Development team. This role is critical in supporting the successful development of our utility-scale solar and storage project portfolio by providing robust data analyses, project controls, and serving as a key liaison between the project development team and finance/investment stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing project schedules, cash flows, and development progress at both the individual project and portfolio levels, with a keen understanding of how these elements impact financial forecasting and investment decisions.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and will play a key role in providing insights that drive decision-making, optimize project timelines, enhance capital efficiency, and ensure alignment between development activities and financial objectives. A significant portion of this role initially may involve supporting the implementation and optimization of our project management and tracking system (e.g., Sitetracker).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports to provide actionable insights into project and portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities
Support the development of tools and systems for efficient data collection, management, and analysis, including playing a key role in the Sitetracker implementation and ongoing management.
Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in development data to support strategic decision-making and process improvements
Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project development schedules for a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including identifying schedule variances, potential delays, and risks, and working with project developers to develop mitigation strategies.
Track key milestones, critical path activities, and progress against baselines for all development phases.
Act as a primary point of contact between the Development team and Finance departments
Work with developers to manage actuals data on development projects, support annual budget creation, and contribute to the development P&L forecast and overhead tracking; support project spend tracking against Investment Committee (IC) approvals.
Assess, analyze, document and in some cases create business processes to increase Development’s efficiency and standardization
Compile and organize key documents and project information for internal and external parties
Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field (finance, business administration, economics, computer science) or in a liberal art with a proven interest in data work and analyses
A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and/or several years of relevant work experience in consulting, finance, or energy development
Experience implementing and/or using Sitetracker is strongly preferred
Demonstrated MS Office suite excellence, particularly strong Excel (VBA, etc.) and PowerPoint skills
Ability to manage and execute across various time-sensitive workflows simultaneously
Keen interest in problem solving
Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally; ability to coordinate/drive tasks across multiple teams
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Occasional work travel to other Strata offices.
