The Opportunity…

Works across a portfolio of clean mobility programs to support marketing and communications efforts. Collaborates directly with program managers, project teams, and other internal stakeholders to identify target audiences and market programs. Works with external stakeholders and community-based organizations to further amplify messaging through culturally and linguistically appropriate marketing materials.

Major duties and responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management
Develop & maintain effective, targeted outreach & education resources, including digital and print collateral, videos, and a photo bank
Manage translation of collateral materials and the website into multiple languages
Create and manage content on program online presence, websites and social media
Manage a statewide “resource hub” of training, marketing and education materials, data and other resources for outreach partners and other community organizations and stakeholders.
Collaborate with program teams on incorporating client and partner feedback into communications to align with branding & messaging, center clients’ needs, and accomplish short- and long-term project goals
Strategic Communications and Marketing
Co-develop and implement marketing strategies with GRID Headquarters Communications team across portfolio of programs
Support marketing efforts across various GRID audiences (e.g. tenants, community-based organizations, job trainees, job training organizations, local governments and other stakeholders) through formats such as marketing and promotional content for webinars, workshops, and events; social media campaigns; and website content and updates
Metrics Tracking and Impact Reporting
Identify and implement metrics tracking strategies across marketing and communications channels
Analyze and understand the effectiveness of a variety of marketing strategies including paid and owned channels
In collaboration with program teams, report on program impact on a quarterly basis; create quarterly presentations, infographics, 1-pagers, etc. showcasing program metrics
Travel to outreach partner and stakeholder events and offices or project sites to gather stories, photos, and video footage for impact reporting and marketing collateral, as needed
Non-Program Work- Including but not limited to general internal staff meetings and engagement; non-program-related equity, inclusion, and diversity work; and keeping abreast of GRID’s work in other areas.

What You Need To Bring To This Role…

Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to tailor content and delivery to a variety of audiences with different education levels and linguistic backgrounds
Marketing experience to support project success with community and sponsor/funder/partner audiences
Experience in designing audience/user journeys (both on- and off-line), developing effective content and materials to support those journeys, and measuring success.
Fluency using a variety of digital tools and platforms, such as content management systems, web analytics, design software, project/task management and team communications apps, database programs, video hosting services and brand management software
Graphic design skills and ability to work effectively with design contractors to develop compelling, on-brand materials
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with community partners, with a deep understanding and practice of equity
Passion for environmental justice, economic justice and an equitable transition to clean energy

It would be great if you also had…

2-3 years of experience in communications and marketing roles, preferably non-profit or service-related
Experience participating in UX or program design processes
Lived or professional experience with immigrant communities, communities of color, underserved communities, or environmental justice communities

Where you will sit and the places you may go…

This position may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.

GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($19-$33), plus the benefits below.
