Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Analyst or Senior Analyst to join 174 Power Global’s Project Finance team in the rapidly growing solar energy and storage sector. The individual will play a crucial role in supporting the financial forecasting and analysis for our solar energy and battery storage projects. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional who can create and maintain complex financial models, assess investment opportunities, and contribute to the overall success of our projects. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance. This position will report to Vice President of Project Finance or another senior member of the Project Finance team. The role offers the opportunity to work in a rapid growth environment with the benefit of the resource backing of a large parent company.

This position is located in Irvine, California, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Irvine office location although this is not a requirement.

Responsibilities

Project Financial Modeling, Forecasting, and Analysis
Develop and maintain Excel based financial models to evaluate project feasibility, economics, expected returns, and overall financial performance
Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess potential risks and opportunities
Evaluate potential solar energy and storage project investments, considering financial metrics, market trends, and regulatory factors
Assess the impact of government incentives, tax credits, and other financial mechanisms on project economics
Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives
Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts to support decision-making processes for our project development activities
Prepare and present financial reports to internal stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project development, engineering procurement and construction (EPC), interconnection, real estate, asset management and other functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent modeling inputs as well as alignment with management goals
Project Finance Transaction Support and Due Diligence Management
Support transaction due diligence efforts for potential divestitures, acquisitions, debt and tax equity financing, or partnerships related to solar energy projects
Analyze and validate financial data, contracts, and other relevant information
Create and maintain online data rooms
Coordinate due diligence meetings and Q&As.
Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including prospective investors and financial institutions

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
For the Analyst position, a minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, modeling, and project finance within the solar energy sector. Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience for the Senior Analyst title
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools with the ability to create macros and other advanced Excel functions to handle multiple projects and multiple development and financing scenarios
Deep knowledge of solar energy project financing structures, investment tax credit, production tax credit, tax equity financing, and debt financing
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and presentation abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure, and collaborative environment
