Are you a technical strategist who thrives in high-autonomy environments? Do you excel at decoding grid constraints, identifying transmission opportunity, and influencing siting decisions early; before others even see the risk?

Vesper Energy is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager of Transmission & Interconnection to lead transmission planning and interconnection strategy across our national development pipeline. This role blends analytical horsepower, grid fluency, and market-level insight to drive siting, manage interconnection queues, conduct transmission studies, and influence commercial and M&A decisions.

This is a critical cross-functional role that demands independent thinking, initiative, and high-level coordination. You’ll work closely with development, engineering, finance, and external stakeholders to de-risk projects and shape portfolio strategy from origination through execution.

Who You Are
Independent thinker who thrives on complexity
Deeply analytical, yet able to simplify and communicate clearly
Motivated by ownership, influence, and precision
Strategic, technically fluent, and outcome-driven
Calm under pressure and collaborative under deadlines

What You’ll Do
Own interconnection and transmission strategy across multiple ISOs/RTOs including PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, and SPP
Conduct and/or manage internal and external grid modeling and capacity analysis (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, PowerWorld)
File and track interconnection applications, manage milestones, and coordinate with ISOs, utilities, and consultants
Identify optimal points of interconnection and inform project siting and M&A diligence
Evaluate interconnection study results, assess cost/schedule implications, and drive decisions on project prioritization
Stay engaged with stakeholder and policy forums to anticipate regulatory changes and reform impacts
Provide technical and strategic support across internal teams including Development, Finance, and Origination
Update portfolio-wide transmission strategy regularly to ensure market alignment

What You Bring
Bachelor’s in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus) strongly preferred
Advanced degree, PE, PMP, or Six Sigma certification a plus
3+ years of experience in utility, ISO/RTO, or energy development with proven interconnection and transmission modeling expertise
Strong technical command of transmission tools: PSS/E, PowerWorld, TARA, PROBE, UPLAN, Velocity Suite, etc.
Experience working with multiple RTOs/ISOs and understanding of regional interconnection protocols
Excellent cross-functional communication and project management skills
Passion for clean energy and confidence to lead with data, logic, and clarity
