Vesper Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Interconnection – East to Manage the interconnection process for Vesper’s development pipeline in the eastern region (ERCOT, CAISO, and WECC bi-lateral markets) by collaborating with internal teams, filing interconnection requests, tracking progress in the queue, proposing optimal interconnection strategies, coordinating with system operators and transmission owners on design, schedule, and cost at a project specific level, and manage interconnection agreement milestone timelines/deliverables in concert with internal and external groups.
Desired Educational Level:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degrees strongly preferred.
PMP and/or Six Sigma Certification preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
3 years or more of relevant experience with preference given to those with direct electric utility, ISO, RTO, and consultant experience.
In-depth understanding of interconnection processes, requirements, and regulations.
Proven experience in managing interconnection applications, agreements, and related activities.
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for interconnection and grid analysis.
Commitment to sustainability and a passion for advancing renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
Leverage specific regional knowledge and experience in expediting interconnection agreement milestone completion and/or cost savings.
Analyze interconnection study results, estimate cost, and schedule requirements of interconnection facilities, network upgrades and how they impact the anticipated commercial schedule and interconnection cost for a project.
Act as primary point of contact with interconnection consultants, utilities, ISOs, and RTOs
Manage and update the interconnection strategy for each active project within Vesper’s project portfolio.
Provide commercial and strategic guidance, with the support of senior management, on the company’s development pipeline, M&A targets, and operational assets.
Actively participate in relevant ISO/RTO interconnection process stakeholder groups, meetings and stay current on associated reforms.
