Job Summary

The Senior Analyst, Commercial Operations is a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in energy markets, commodity operations, and commercial analytics. This role requires strong quantitative skills, intellectual curiosity, and an ownership mindset to manage complex settlement processes, contract administration, and trade reconciliation across multiple markets and products. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced problem-solving abilities, a drive for automation and operational efficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Trading, Accounting, Risk, Credit, and FP&A. Success in this role depends on a strong understanding of ETRM systems, ISO and capacity market operations, and the ability to maintain data integrity while supporting optimized commercial and operational decision-making in a fast-paced energy environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

Support commercial operations across energy and environmental commodity markets, including power, gas, capacity, and RECs.
Manage ISO, resource adequacy, and capacity market operations, including scheduling, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Perform settlement analytics, P&L reporting, trade reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution across internal systems and external counterparties.
Administer bilateral contracts and confirmation workflows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
Maintain trader blotter integrity, ETRM data accuracy, and commercial documentation to support audit readiness and controls.
Collaborate with Trading, Accounting, Risk, Credit, and FP&A to support cross functional reporting and operational processes.
Maintain relationships with ISOs, exchanges, FCMs, and counterparties to support efficient market operations.
Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, and ad hoc commercial analysis.
Support and maintain strong relationships with Accounting, Back office, Risk, credit and FP&A in cross functional processes/reporting and educate them to use self-service tools available from our team.

Required Education/Skills/Knowledge

Degree in a quantitative discipline or significant experience in a similar numerate role.
Strong intellectual curiosity, ownership mentality, problem solving and teamwork skills.
Desire to achieve an advanced level of knowledge and understanding all commercial and operational considerations of commodities trading, commercial asset optimization and energy markets.
Strong analytical skills.
Drive for automation, efficiency and programming skills a plus.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be able to sit/stand at a desk, using a computer workstation.
The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to handle long periods of screen time and typing.
Must be able to have effective time management skills, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
