At AES, we are seeking an innovative and strategic Manager of Data Solutions to lead the adoption of a data mesh strategy where data is a valuable product for the renewable business of AES. This position will be part of the Digital Clean Energy team, reporting to the Clean Energy Digital Analytics Manager. This role involves transforming the way we handle data, seeing it as a product, and establishing a robust framework for crafting and handling multiple data domains and data products. The ideal candidate will facilitate seamless connections between data products and data Domain’s owners, building bridges between business teams using data, generating innovation and business value.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and implement a data solution strategy, treating data as a product with clear ownership and accountability.
Develop and supervise multiple data domains, ensuring they align with business objectives and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Own the creation of data products within these domains, focusing on scalability, reusability, and business value.
Collaborate with the rest of the Clean Energy Data and Analytics team by crafting a data solution framework, following global digital standards, that integrates with the different members of the clean energy data and analytics team, from data architects, data engineers, data governance leads, machine learning leads, to other partners to ensure an integrated approach to data management across Clean Energy.
Promote a culture of shared data ownership and an understanding of data as an asset throughout AES Renewables businesses.
Establish best practices for data product development aligned with global digital standards and AES core values.
Measure and report on the efficiency of the data mesh strategy, iterating and improving the framework.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; a Postgraduate degree in any of these areas is highly preferred.
Proven experience in managing data architecture, with a strong understanding of data mesh principles.
4 years minimum experience.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and projects.
Strong technical expertise in data management tools and platforms as evidenced by the current ecosystem (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to innovate and problem-solve in the field of data and analytics.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor, inspire, and lead a diverse team towards excellence.
Availability to travel.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $125.000 and $161.500/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
