PSE’s Electric Operations team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Distribution Grid Management Analyst position!

Job Description
This is a critical role that will support Puget Sound Energy’s grid modernization efforts to expand the capabilities of the electric distribution system supporting safe, reliable, smart, and flexible operations. The person who fills this role will ensure the ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) supports safe operation of the electric distribution system by delivering accurate and timely updates to the electric network model. Under direction of the Sr. Analyst or Supervisor, this individual gathers internal customer needs, works with IT to clarify requirements, and coordinates model revisions, conducts testing and QA of changes. This role also supports grid modernization efforts to expand the capabilities of the electric distribution system, supporting safe, clean, reliable, smart & flexible operations.

Job Responsibilities
Responsible for updating and modifying data between GIS (Geographic Information System) and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) in support of the real time operations model.
Creates and maintains the substation displays for ADMS; creates and maintains other schematics and displays in the ADMS.
Updates SCADA point information within GIS to support end to end connectivity testing, assists the Sr. Analyst with end-to-end connectivity testing and commissioning.
Under the direction of the Sr. Analyst or Distribution System Operations Engineer, performs load flow analysis assessing accuracy of data inputs and outputs.
Key role in process to integrate data corrections/redlines into model, working across multiple teams and systems. Performs redlines in ADMS for system operations and making display updates.
Retrieves, researches, analyzes and interprets GIS inputs, as-builts and engineering documents.
Requests field investigations to resolve conflicts.
Provides support to System Operations in the use of the OMS-ADMS and works with Sr. Analyst in managing the data configurations and operational roles.
Supports Grid Modernization and ADMS updates/enhancements.
Works across departments to help identify and resolve missing data required for new devices or modules supporting advanced applications like Volt-Var Optimization, and Fault Location.
Aligns modeling and behavior of new devices with customer requirements to support the safe operation of the electric distribution grid.
Supports ongoing network tuning to provide real time load flow.
Assists in developing system operational rules; as well as maintaining, designing, enhancing and implementing the ADMS training simulator and scenarios required for system operation training programs.
Provides support for ADMS data management during storms.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience in related field, or combination of specialized training or experience and 3 years of directly relevant experience.
