Imagine a future where you accelerate the green energy transition by overseeing construction and operations compliance activities

Join us in this role where you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our various commercial, technical, QHSE, and stakeholder teams to ensure compliance. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all projects in our regional onshore asset portfolio comply with environmental and permitting requirements.

Welcome to Welcome to NA PEMA (Permitting, Environmental and Marine Affairs)

You’ll be part of the Permitting and Environmental Compliance team, where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for driving permitting compliance success, identifying potential environmental and social risks, and finding inventive solutions to ensure our onshore regional projects are both commercially viable and have a net-positive impact on surrounding communities and biodiversity. We foster a culture of curiosity, ambition, originality, and caring for one another. As a team, we form a larger PEMA team, which consists of offshore and onshore permitting, marine affairs, and compliance, spanning the developmental, construction, and operational phases of projects.

You’ll play an important role in:

facilitating Compliance activities related to environmental and permitting requirements through all phases, incl. providing strategic inputs to development phase decisions and potential acquisitions
communicating and collaborating with key internal stakeholders, incl. development, EPC, Operations, Asset Managers, QHSE, and Legal to ensure all are aware of compliance requirements
developing construction and operations procedures for solar, wind, and other onshore energy-related projects
leading auditing, inspection, training, and other relevant compliance programs
routinely sharing information about lessons learned within each project, broader PEMA team, and other departments, to ensure continuous improvement
overseeing and leading responses to noncompliance issues or events for onshore activities, incl. leading incident reporting, investigation, and effective corrective actions.

To succeed in the role, you:

hold a bachelor’s degree, or have equivalent experience, in environmental science or environmental policy, engineering, construction management, natural resources, or another relevant field
understand renewable energy projects, and are familiar with construction and operational activities, incl. wildlife monitoring and mitigation, acoustic measurements, SWPPP, vegetation management, NPDES Discharge monitoring, discharges to land, wetland management, and other relevant permitting conditions
have experience with compliance tracking and monitoring tools, auditing, inspections, procedure development, overseeing permit conditions, and stakeholder commitments, all of which are important for this role
can interface with various internal and external stakeholders to recommend approaches that lead to continuous improvement, cost savings, and lesser project impacts
are knowledgeable about onshore federal and state compliance regulatory triggers and applicability
have at least three to five years of related experience in any onshore infrastructure construction or operational projects, with experience from working in technical teams (engineering, development, construction, operations) in large projects being desirable, as well as knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS, and 9001 standards.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
