JOB SUMMARY: Partners with the Sourcing team and suppliers to verify orders are delivered in a timely and cost-efficient manner. The Specialist will generate reports and consistently update the Sourcing team and requesters on expedited requests for services, parts, and equipment. This role handles requests for inquiry and potential purchases, reviews a wide range of purchase requisitions, investigates and develops sources of supplies, preparing bid specifications; issues bid requests and reviews quotations, interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned categories, which require a high degree of technical knowledge. Resolves technical and pricing issues and ensures predetermined schedules are met. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates the competitive quote process for all requisitions according to the company policies. Solicit price bids and proposals from qualified suppliers, Conduct evaluation of all bids, and recommend suppliers for award, negotiate final prices, assist with establishing contracts, and implement negotiated sourcing deals throughout Universal Parks and Resorts.
Researches possible sources/suppliers for requested items, provides alternatives or substitutions when applicable, and assists internal requesters with select requirements. Gathers/reviews requests in various formats including technical drawings or schematics; evaluates total cost of ownership in cases where substitutions are beneficial to the organization and monitors savings on sourcing deals in accordance with established performance targets.
Supports key company initiatives/projects as assigned including new capital projects
Maintains and updates supplier database and completes necessary paperwork and reports. Compiles metrics & KPI’s for related areas as assigned.
Partners with Finance to ensure budget compliance and to identify cost saving opportunities as they relate to a procurement perspective.
Assist with resolution of order discrepancies and communicates any information throughout different business units (Comcast and NBCU).
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years general commodity buying experience required. MRO experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CPM, CPSM Preferred
