3-5 years’ experience with power/project-related economic analysis, land acquisition, development and/or transmission application processes or 5 years prior commercial, technical, or financial business experience 2-3 years prior experience in power project development Experience in a business environment, preferably in an energy related field is preferred Must be proficient with Microsoft Office; specifically Excel, Word, Access and Outlook. Knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred Prior commercial negotiation experience a plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Science or other business related degree is required MBA or relevant masters degree a strong plus Required Skills : Ability to lead cross-functional teams to complete development of projects Ability to prepare pricing and commercial strategy and present it to senior leadership Ability to participate in negotiation of power purchase agreements. Ability to manage P&L budget accountability for aggregated regional/project specific AOP budgets of $1 mm. Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively prioritize competing deadlines Detail oriented, self-starter and tenacious Proficiency in Microsoft Products such as Excel and Project A basic understanding of business related matters which impact a solar development project including such as real estate acquisition Strong analytical, communication, and commercial skills. Ability to receive constructive feedback and make corrective changes. Exposure to the renewable energy business is a plus. Must be able to travel as required. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Lead responsibility for all First Solar project development activity within a US region Identify, assess and acquire potential solar project sites. Hold lead responsibility for select projects within portfolio, including budgetary accountability Establish and maintain various development databases. Negotiate with and manage consultants and development subcontractors. Manage the acquisition of options, leases and easements with landowners. Assist in the preliminary project design. Support project permitting. Represent the company at public meetings regarding projects and at industry conferences. Monitor regulatory requirements for solar projects. Ensure adherence to quality and environmental regulations. Identify and evaluate commercial opportunities.
