We are seeking a highly skilled Records & Information Governance Specialist to support a critical document repository migration from one Document Management System (DMS) to another DMS.

This role is ideal for a professional with deep familiarity in the energy industry who can accurately analyze and categorize complex agreements by type, structure, and their role within a transaction (e.g. governing agreement, amendment, supporting document). The primary focus is on precise document identification across a range of agreement types, including, but not limited to NDAs, Title Commitments/Title Policies, IA/SGIA/LGIA agreements, Lease/Option to Lease, construction and procurement agreements, and all other general agreements along with metadata validation, and the assignment of appropriate document types, attributes, and hierarchical relationships across a large and diverse contract portfolio.

This role will be based out of our Austin, TX office and is subject to our Company’s return-to-office policy which currently requires a minimum of three days a week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with classifying a high volume of contracts and agreements (e.g., NDAs, Title Commitments/Title Policies, IA/SGIA/LGIA agreements, Lease/Option to Lease, construction and procurement agreements, and all other general agreements.
Accurately assign document types and metadata based on content, structure, and contractual purpose.
Validate and refine metadata fields, tagging, and hierarchical relationships within the new system.
Support the migration and organization of 10,000+ documents into Aline.
Identify and resolve misclassified or inconsistently labeled documents.
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in document taxonomy and naming conventions.
Assist in establishing best practices for document governance and classification in the new repository.
Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated records.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Proven experience analyzing and classifying complex contracts and agreements
Energy sector background preferred (e.g., renewables, utilities, power markets, project development)
Strong command of agreement structures, terminology, and document distinctions
Experience with document management systems (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint or similar)
High attention to detail with the ability to ensure consistency across large, complex datasets
