Location:
Technical proficiency in fundamentals of mechanical design for structural and fluidic components, mechanisms, or manufacturing & processing equipment is preferred
Work Site Expectations: On site/Hybrid (2-5 days per week in the company office)
Perform computations utilizing hand calculations and analytical tools for structural, thermal, hydraulic, and other scoping calculations as required at the direction of senior engineers and systems engineers to ensure SSCs can meet technical requirements
Provide independent reviews and acceptance reviews of engineering deliverables and data

Develop mechanical/physical concepts, design and support development of processes to create structures systems and components (SSCs). Understand how nuclear safety relates to system engineering and the work performed on a day-to-day occurrence
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri
3+ years of experience in an engineering role required (may include a combination of experience obtained through an academic institution, e.g., design projects, research, or design teams, as well as professional experience)
Proficient with Microsoft Office, outlook, teams or similar software and pdf editing and markup tools
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university required

Identify, collect, and document applicable requirements, interfaces, design basis and criteria by coordinating with key stakeholders/systems engineers and support identifying applicable industry codes and standards and the direction of senior engineers and systems engineers
Nuclear experience at an operating plant is strongly preferred

Support the assessment of SSCs for manufacturability as well as assembly and integration considerations at the direction of senior engineers
Write and develop design documentation including design basis documents, technical reports, calculations, and drawings in accordance with applicable procedures
X-energy is seeking professionals to join our Commercial team in the role of Engineer II, Mechanical Design. This position will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical systems and components. This includes concept development, evaluation of concepts, analysis of systems and components for their ability to perform their intended function, and ensuring they meet all technical specifications and requirements. They will ensure the development of the systems and components through production including any necessary prototyping, testing, and commissioning.
Background in system design consulting is preferred
