Position Overview

We are seeking a Retail Supply Analyst who is independent, results-oriented, self-motivated and wants to be part of a Dynamic Organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the deregulated retail electricity space. As part of the wholesale desk enabling the growth of Chariot/174PG’s business, this role will be responsible for running and maintaining all analytical tools needed for retail pricing and supply management activities in ERCOT power market working closely with Supply and Technology teams. You will foster strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders across all levels and partner with key users, business leads and project sponsors to understand the needs of the business, document them (via requirements documents, use cases and process diagrams), and determine the appropriate short and long term solutions to meet them.

This position is in Houston, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location. The position will be located out of the Chariot Energy Houston office. RESPONSIBILITIES

Function as the business analyst for all Supply related IT projects.
Assist in maintaining all the retail pricing model inputs covering all the product types.
Assist in the marking of all the relevant wholesale and retail price curves including implied hourly scalers and scarcity premiums.
Support the build and maintain monitoring checks, to ensure compliance of all approved risk limits including position and mark-to-market reports.
Work closely with the finance team to build the framework needed to help explain supply related drivers impacting forward and settled retail gross margins.
Assist with coordinating Supply related management presentations, contract executions and project management activities.
Actively collaborate with development and support teams to assure solution meets requirements.
Prepare recommendations and proposed IT solutions
Develop and implement test plans based on business requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years of work experience in energy industry; must demonstrate an understanding of Energy Markets and Risk Management.
Bachelor’s Degree Required in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science or any other any other related field of study with quantitative hard science.
Exposure to retail energy industry a plus.
Effective interpersonal and presentation skills coupled with strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in Excel, Access, Power Point & Other MS Office Applications.
Technical skills in VBA, SQL, Matlab and Python a plus, but not required.
Ability to document business requirements in an accurate, unambiguous and succinct fashion.
